Altoona & Eau Claire, WI–

Yesterday I had the distinct privilege to have lunch with the midwives and nurses of Marshfield Clinic.  Since my wife and I are pregnant, expecting our first, we have decided to be under the care of the midwives.  I had a fantastic time with them yesterday!  It is encouraging to know some care providers in the hospital system that believe in the ability of the human body first, then if needed, use drugs and surgery.  Their philosophy of care aligns very well with chiropractic in general.  They agreed with me stating that our society and culture has driven the health care system to what it is today: a quick fix approach to alleviate pain and mask the problem.

We discussed a lot of things yesterday about Pre-natal chiropractic care for the mom.  We discussed how important it is for moms to try natural methods to pain that occurs during pregnancy instead of the nasty drugs that DO affect the baby.  I also talked about chiropractic’s role in labor and delivery.  Chiropractic care can help the labor progress if it seems to be halted and do it with less pain.  We finished up talking about chiropractic care for the newborn.  We, at Health4Life, are passionate about getting children checked early so that future problems can be avoided.  The midwives were very positive overall and I felt we were on the same page.

The midwives at Marshfield clinic are fantastic and I would HIGHLY recommend them to anyone that wants a hospital birth, but a more personal touch.  You can read more about them at the Eau Claire Center at (715) 858-4646 or at http://www.marshfieldclinic.org/patients/?page=centers&code=EAUC
